Compositions for Wind-Orchestras

Here you find a list of compositions for different kinds of wind-orchestras. Some of them are written for complete orchestras, including wood, sax, brass and fulll percussion, the others are for simple brass bands. Thereby, in particular the brass examples are rather simpler creations. It is of course possible to play some of them also with other instruments (wood or even strings; if interested, please contact OTmusic).

For each piece you get a short comment, an audio-example (in form of a mp3-file), its full score and a condensed score. The audio examples are however only synthetic computer recordings. Their sound is of course not at all satisfying, but they give at least a rough audio impression of the piece.

The complete set of the score and its parts can be ordered by e-mail at ("rickenbacher at opentrain.ch". ). You will get them as printable PDF-files, according to the specified list of instruments. The payment (by IBAN bank transfer or by PayPal) will be due when you really use it (in case of public representation, please declare it at SUISA).
Of course, OTmusic can deliver also other or additional parts for other instruments (tonality, clef). Exceptionally, the score and its parts can be delivered in printed form on paper (-.20 cts. per A4-sheet, plus shipping).

The idea for this special march came up in the context of the preparation of the "Fêtes des vignerons 2019" (big spectacle on the occasion of the festival of the winegrowersin Vevey/Switzerland). Several typical and well-kown traditional melodies reappear there in an interwoven and surprising way (e.g. by using ternary melodies in binary form): Ranz des vaches, La Montferrine, Chanson des Colombines, La noce/Valse de Lauterbach. NB : the use of the "Chanson des collombines", composed by J.F.Bovard for the spectacle in 1999, was authorized by the owner of the rights, Ms Nicole Bovard.

La Marche de l'Automne         for Brass-Ensemble
The music orchestra "Fanfare de l'Automne" in Blonay (founded in 1980) had chosen his name due to the fact that their members are all in pension age, i.e. in the autumn of their life. This spawned the idea to write a march based on some typical themes out of Vivaldi's "Autumn" in the "For Seasons" and to dedicate it to that orchestra (with "Thanks and Excuses to Mr. Vivaldi" as mentioned in the subtitle).
